''Bill the Bloodhound'' is a short story by British comic writer P. G. Wodehouse (1881–1975). It was first published in the US in ''The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine'' in February 1915 and in the UK in ''The Strand Magazine'' in April 1915. It was also included in the collection ''The Man with Two Left Feet'' published in the UK in 1917 and in the US in 1933. == Plot summary ==
A young sort of detective (or rather sleuth) Henry Pifield Rice, who works for a detective bureau, falls in love with Alice Weston, a chorus girl of ''The Girl from Brighton'' music hall. He proposes to her but is refused on the ground that she does not want to marry someone who is not in the profession. When Henry is sent by his employer to investigate one of the members of ''The Girl from Brighton'' music hall company, he takes advantage of it to get closer to Alice.
